The Season So Far

January 21st, 2020 admincontrol

Having taken out the full licence in June of 2019, we started the current National Hunt season with fairly modest goals.

The objective was to build up a small string of nice horses ( and nice owners ! ) and try and get 3 or 4 winners on the board during the course of the season.

It is therefore very pleasing, and rewarding for our great team, to have already had 5 winners but we are realistic and know that things aren’t always going to go quite as smoothly! Read the rest of this entry »

2018/2019 Season

February 11th, 2019 admincontrol

The season has got off to a slightly slow start due to the dry weather and the majority of our horses having to wait for softer ground.  We had a handful of runners around Christmas who all ran well and are ready to go now the snow has gone and the start of the North West season is just around the corner.  We have some nice young horses for this season who we will aim to be ready for the second Bangor meeting in march.

The new carpet surface on the outdoor arena has been a great help during the recent bad weather and has enabled us to continue to work the horses each day and the addition of a 3 furlong grass gallop has been a great benefit so far this season with the horses working well on it.

During the summer Sam completed his trainers courses and is looking forward to taking out his license in the near future.

Tomorrows runners

April 9th, 2016 admincontrol

We take three horses to Brampton Bryan tomorrow where the ground is currently good to soft, good in places.

Hiller runs in the 3 mile maiden race.We have been really please with him since his second over Easter and we are very hopeful that he will put up a good account of himself.

Vestige runs in the Restricted. He ran well twice at the track last season and is very well in himself at home.

Queens Law runs in the mares maiden. We have tried to keep her fresh and ideally we would hope for nicer ground as she is at her best then.We will just keep an eye on the weather / ground in the next 24 hours.

Rob Jarrett rides all three

This Weekend’s Runners

March 26th, 2016 admincontrol

We have a total of 8 runners over the Easter weekend, 3 at Sandon tomorrow and 5 at Eyton on Monday.

Hillier will be up first tomorrow in the short maiden with Rob Jarrett on board. He was unfortunate to fall when running well last time and we expect him to run a good race provided his confidence hasn’t been knocked.

We run two in tomorrow’s Restricted.Repeal will be ridden by John Mathias and the short trip should suit and he is really well in himself.

Vestige will be ridden by Rob and we feel that he has everything in his favour and a small field should help.

On Monday,we have two in the Hunt race. Rob rides Chip N Charge who will wear first time cheek pieces. Eyton is the owners home track and we have been patient in waiting for the better ground for him.

Bright Light will be ridden by Ed Glassonbury and gets weight off everything. The track should suit.

Our Mick runs in the Mens Open under Rob. He gets in with no penalties and is looking to notch up his fourth win of the season.

In the Confined we run Verano and whilst he gets a penalty, the race doesn’t look too strong and everything looks to be in his favour. He will have a tongue tie on and Rob takes the ride.

Queens Law will run in the 3 mile Maiden. We have waited for the better ground and she seems in good form. Rob rides.
