Having taken out the full licence in June of 2019, we started the current National Hunt season with fairly modest goals.
The objective was to build up a small string of nice horses ( and nice owners ! ) and try and get 3 or 4 winners on the board during the course of the season.
It is therefore very pleasing, and rewarding for our great team, to have already had 5 winners but we are realistic and know that things aren’t always going to go quite as smoothly! Read the rest of this entry »

The season has got off to a slightly slow start due to the dry weather and the majority of our horses having to wait for softer ground. We had a handful of runners around Christmas who all ran well and are ready to go now the snow has gone and the start of the North West season is just around the corner. We have some nice young horses for this season who we will aim to be ready for the second Bangor meeting in march.
The new carpet surface on the outdoor arena has been a great help during the recent bad weather and has enabled us to continue to work the horses each day and the addition of a 3 furlong grass gallop has been a great benefit so far this season with the horses working well on it.
During the summer Sam completed his trainers courses and is looking forward to taking out his license in the near future.

It was great to have a winner at Chaddesley Corbett on Friday when Twotwothree won the two and a half mile maiden in impressive style under Ed Glassonbury. It looks like he could have an exciting future ahead of him.
Alright Chief ran a great race to finish third under Ed Bailey
and showed us that there is lots to look forward to in the coming months.
Good Idea and Mantou were both pulled up on their reappearances but we are confident that they will show us more during the rest of the season.

Thank you to everyone who came along to the open morning yesterday.
It was the best attended one that we have had so far and we hope that everyone enjoyed themselves and found it interesting.
The parade of horses seemed popular and I hope that we were able to give you a good insight into our hopes and aspirations for the coming season. We believe that we have got a good mix of young and more experienced horses but only time will tell.
Many thanks to Carol for the fantastic refreshments which I know were very much appreciated by all.
As I mentioned yesterday, there are still one or two ownership options in the yard (outright / part ownership and syndicates) so please give me a shout if you are interested.

A great opportunity to get involved in an exciting prospect for this coming season, as a whole or in shares.
This 4yo son of getaway is pleasing us at home and schooling extremely well, he is currently doing plenty and will be ready to run come Christmas.
He’s a lovely model 16.1 and very athletic which is proving well in his jumping and work, very correct and bred for the job.
He’s out of a unraced mare who is a half sister to grade 2 winner St Pirran and is also closely related to tough stayer Shotgun Willy.
If you would like to have a conversation about full or part ownership please ring Sam on 07738 413579
